Dental Cavities/Decayed Teeth

Treatment
Acid producing bacteria cause tooth decay (dental caries) by causing demineralization of the outermost layer of tooth known as Enamel. If left untreated, dental caries can spread across dentin and reach pulp, the innermost layer containing nerves and blood vessels. The first sign of decay is usually a chalky white spot. This may become brown before eventually turning into a cavity.
Symptoms of decayed teeth
  • Discoloured teeth
  • Foul-smelling breath
  • Toothache
  • Hot/cold sensitivity
  • Headaches
When to see a Dentist
You should see your dentist as soon as possible to prevent caries progression and get it corrected. By doing so, not only it will improve the health of the tooth involved but also will improve the overall health and functionality of the whole mouth and improve your esthetics as well.
